Privacy Policy

Account information. When you create an account we collect your email address and authentication details through our authentication provider (AuthKit). We do not store your password.

GitHub connection. When you install the Alcove GitHub App we receive installation and repository metadata needed to review pull requests you select, plus the content of those pull requests and related Issues as required to leave review comments. We do not use App access to silently mutate your default branch.

Traveler (subject) memory. Profiles, preferences, and approved postmortem lessons you store in Alcove are kept to provide cross-trip memory. Trip repositories you host on GitHub remain under your GitHub account; Alcove stores opaque subject identifiers and the memory you choose to keep with us.

Usage data. We collect limited, privacy-preserving product analytics (for example, that a review run completed) to understand how the product is used. These events contain counts and identifiers — not the full text of private trip files beyond what a review run already processes.

Technical data. Like most services, our infrastructure processes standard technical information such as IP address and device/browser type for security, abuse prevention, and reliability.

We use your information to operate and improve Alcove: to authenticate you, connect GitHub, run adversarial review, store subject memory you approve, process payments where applicable, maintain security, and communicate with you about your account.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use the text of your private trip content or subject memory to train third-party foundation models.

Alcove uses only the cookies strictly necessary to keep you signed in. Our product analytics run in a cookieless mode and our performance measurement is cookieless, so we do not set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies and do not require a tracking-consent banner.

We share data only with the service providers that run Alcove on our behalf — hosting and database, the AI model providers that power review and reflection, our payments processor, and our transactional email provider — each under terms that limit their use of the data to providing their service. GitHub receives review comments and App traffic as part of the GitHub App integration. We may also disclose information where required by law.

You can export a machine-readable copy of your Alcove account data, and you can permanently delete your account and associated Alcove-hosted content, at any time from the dashboard privacy settings. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to access, correct, or restrict the processing of your personal data; contact us to exercise them. Uninstalling the GitHub App stops future review access; it does not by itself delete Alcove account memory.

We keep your Alcove-hosted content for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, organization-scoped Alcove data is erased; limited records may be retained where necessary to comply with legal, accounting, or security obligations. Content that lives only in your GitHub repositories remains under your control with GitHub.

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data in transit and at rest. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep access scoped to you and your organization.

Alcove is intended for adults. You must be at least 18 years old to use it.

We may update this policy as the product evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you.
